GRE Test Syllabus 2019

Verbal Reasoning

The verbal reasoning section includes three types of questions- Reading Comprehension, Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence. According to the GRE syllabus 2019, the Verbal Reasoning section measures a candidate’s ability to:
1. Analyse and draw conclusions, understand and add value to incomplete data; identify the perception of the author.
2. Identify vital points and differentiate between relevant and irrelevant points.
3. Understand and summarise the structure of a text.
4. Understand the meanings of words, sentences and entire texts.
5. Understand relationships among words and among concepts.

GRE Test Syllabus 2019 – Quantitative Reasoning
The Quantitative Reasoning section of This Subject test measures a candidate’s ability to:

1. Understand and analyse quantitative information
2. Interpret quantitative information correctly
3. Solve problems using mathematical models
4. Apply basic mathematical skills and concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data interpretation.

GRE Test Syllabus 2019 – Analytical Writing
The Analytical Writing section measures a candidate’s ability to:

1. Articulate complex ideas effectively and with clarity
2. Support ideas with relevant reasons and examples
3. Examine claims and accompanying evidence
4. Sustain a well-focused, coherent discussion
